Images of past series
The images here are the oldest paintings I still have. After High School I attended college to study art. Like most art school students studying in San Francisco I experimented in many things including surrealism. I still find Surrealism to be an ironic grounding point for me. I focused on altering the equilibrium of the viewer and pushed the boundaries associated. I was not much of a dater and became somewhat of a reclusive very open minded I felt sorry for much of the homeless in the area I lived. There is a weird thing that happens If you are in a city and everybody is moving so damn fast to where they have to go they do not pay attention to most of what is happening around them. Take the time and just sit down don't put your hand up have a cup or anything and watch as most the people passing you make a point not to look at you.
Towards the end of my first attempt at college. I had shifted thus my work had become more and more non-objective. Mutating from surreal to abstract completing the transformation that had taken place. This was mostly because of art that I had seen in galleries in San Francisco. One artist in particular that would help mold my career later on. His mixture of painting and sculpture was breath taking and I started my experiments on techniques from several non representational artists. I started working on more of a warshak test, stamp approach to achieve the level of distinctive familiarity I was looking for, and to this day still use.
After moving to the desert to lick my wounds after not being able to afford the bay area any longer. I stumbled across a studio assistant add and called to my serendipity It was Delos Van Earl the very artist that inspired me to change the way I looked at art that I had seen in galleries. I began a short apprenticeship. Working with a master for two months I had already seen more progress in my work than in two years of school. I call this rare line of work I did the Delos Line since it was such heavily influenced and helped By Delos Van Earl. As You can see a lot of the simple things that held me back in past work disappear.
After Two years I had worked toward my own body of work and finally had a gallery that was showing several pieces. Unfortunately this was days before September 11 2001. After that we were in two wars. I could not paint while there were married men my own age going off to war and dying. Whether or not the wars were right or wrong I had to do my part. So naturally I joined the Army shortly thereafter got married to Jennifer the most beautiful woman on the planet and now have a baby boy and girl and live in Texas. I am disabled and will be leaving the Army soon. My more recent work can be found in my portfolio
